Landmark Tourist Spot
Don't miss Plaza de Armas, a vibrant square and the epicenter of activity at the heart of this charming, quiet village. From the square, visit the small local community cathedral dating back to the late 18th century, a museum, and several alfresco cafes. Several handicraft vendors selling souvenirs and textiles populate the square every day, as well as local people walking llamas and alpacas around for photo opportunities. Take your camera along, as you'll have stunning views of the nearby mountain vista from the square. With our world travel planner, Yanque attractions like Plaza de Armas can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

Where to stay in Yanque

An established cultural tourism spot for groups and solo adventurers, the small town of Yanque offers comfortable accommodations for visitors, but in relatively small supply. Guesthouses providing bed and board represent the most common of style of accommodations in town; choose from newly built and old, characterful options. Cross Rio Colca, and you'll find a couple of eco-lodges around the hot springs, offering spa facilities, bars, and onsite restaurants. Head back to the main regional road for a selection of simple bed and breakfasts and small hotels.
