El Brujo, Trujillo

4.3
Uncover the secrets of the ancient Moche culture at El Brujo, one of the most important archeological sites in modern day Peru. Built sometime between the 2nd and 7th century CE, the ruined pyramid displays a range of detailed reliefs and murals depicting the Moche way of life, as well as evidence of later Lambayeque and Chimú influences. Examine the still-preserved tattoos on the body of Señora de Cao, the first governess discovered in Peru, whose remains rest at the site. Consider the importance of her discovery--it suggests that traditional cultures more than a millennium old placed some degree of importance on gender equality. • It is about an hour from the Plaza de Armas. It is next to the Lady of the Cao are both included in the visit. The visit lasts approximately 1 hour and a half. The place is covered. It is not recommended to go with young children because you have to climb 3 floors and walk. He runs wind but there is Sun. The road is nice see plantations of sugar cane. More visits are required because they do not have budget to further explore there are 3 more temples to explore! The entrance 10 soles. I was in the Colonial tour in total 45 soles.

  • The pre-inca and inca society were traditionally patriarchal. But in this pyramid a new suit draws attention. One of the rulers was a woman (Named today as Lady of Cao). This society was very inclusive. Believed that the disabled (mental and physical) were to be chosen by the gods and special gave them a high position in the social hierarchy. The pyramid is already badly damaged by time, which worsens during times of Her Nest, which brings a lot of rain to the coast of Peru. Built with adobe (bricks uncooked), is sensitive to bad weather but enduring through the centuries, now aided by technology and covers. There are still internally beautiful painted murals in high relief. And you can see the location where they found the tomb of Lady of Cao and your Entourage. From the top of the pyramid you will find other minors, abandoned to their fate in the middle of plantations. Irrigation and the use of tractors accelerate the erosive process.

  • Throughout the visit is amazing and the Museum's site is very well designed. The Lady of Cao is the Museum that it deserves. I congratulate you!

Where to stay in Trujillo

Trujillo offers surprisingly few sleeping options for a city of its size, featuring only a few mid-range hotels suitable for the majority of visitors. If all you need is a decent bed in a quiet part of town, look for hostels catering to budget travelers. Visitors who don't need to stay in Trujillo itself can also consider the nearby beach town of Huanchaco, which offers more choices at a range of prices.
