Walk along the river Cumbaza has a duration of one hour or hour and a half along the trail to Huacamaillo waterfall which is visited in this wonderful activity. Along the way it crosses in rio on several occasions being able to get the water up to our knees (I went in dry season, probably in rainy season the river level raise more). Therefore it is highly recommended to wear shoes that do not amount to get wet, but having good adhesion (in some areas the stones enough slide) and pants that can get wet, in addition a moult to change into after work if desired. The walk takes a slight upward slope of ida to the casca, although in some areas must go up steep sections. Shortly before reaching the waterfall there is a shed where to sit to rest. The waterfall is very nice and since to get it is necessary to make a non grata for many, walk is less commercial than the rest of falls/waterfalls in the area. In it you can enjoy a swim in the pool, or sit on the rocks under the water fall. For lovers of photography at about noon rays of the Sun affect the water creating a pretty nice picture. In addition, a tripod in a shallow water area can place to take photos (a pity that it will not take my tripod). Along the way also cocoa plantations, and quite a few butterflies very colorful look. To return to San Antonio de Cumbaza stopped for lunch before returning to Tarapoto. Lunch was included in the tour.

Reaching the place is an adventure, even is not an area frequented by many tourists so you breathe tranquillity, there is a long walk (approx. 2 hours roundtrip), but full of vegetation, you must cross the River until on 3 occasions, but worth... .fui with my boyfriend and we have a group of young people, both ours and your guide was very friendly and we had a very pleasant chat about the area then they went and we had the cataract at our disposal, return us accompany the Guide, and a puppy guide charming (only should give you food), was waiting for us a lunch out front the town square, was delicious, the best!
