The hike was terrific. However, we ended up with a Spanish-speaking guide, so we had little interpretive information about what we saw. We had little time to look for sea otters because we were slow o...  more »

We were in this spectacular family place, we were a group of 4 adults, 1 teen, 1 3-year-old girl and 1 infant =) 1 Luis (the owner) took us in his truck from Puerto Maldonado to the community of Infierno, an approximate 40 minute journey, then we boarded a boat that was awaiting us on the banks of the River, we traveled for another 40 minutes exploring the river , in the way you can see some turtles, caimans, birds... etc come to point where we went down and we had to start walking, walk between the trees for about 20 minutes more and came to another port where waited us another boat, this time sailed 3 Chimbadas Lake for 10 minutes more and finally arrived at the lodge... The lodge is located just in front of the Lake and our room had a spectacular sight every morning very early passed right in front of us Lions River (an endangered species) were alone without other guests, except the staff working there, that we love, since it was more private and family our stay. The food prepared by Clotilde was delicious, our guide Victor was an excellent and very friendly host, they were very attentive all... The reason why we went to this lodge was because we wanted fish and after some days of single fish "Piranha", we were lucky enough to catch a giant fish (Dorado) on our last day. We went with the desire to return someday... Thank you Victor for your warmth, Clotilde by your rich seasoning meals and thanks to Luis and Alberto for everything. It was spectacular! 100% recommended!
