  • We ran the Lares Trek in September. Recommended posting about SAM's travel in Cuzco, which advertises "trekking off the beaten treks" to offer. I can definitely confirm that, because up to the locals are we met few other tourists, went to times alternative routes. The landscape was a dream, so have absolutely worth the hardships even for relatively inexperienced hikers like us. Partly rather steep and quite difficult passages, but absolutely feasible. I would always recommend the Trek as an alternative to the Inca Trail.
