Choquequirao Archeological Park, Sacred Valley

Visit the Incan site of Choquequirao Archeological Park, a terraced structure similar in architecture to the famed Machu Picchu. Hike through peaceful valleys filled with large agave plants and interesting wildlife, learn about the Incan culture and history, and observe the artworks left over by a long-gone civilization. The Incan settlement can only be reached by a 2-4 day trek from Cusco, but you can choose to hike here on your own or on an organized tour with a guide, mules, and a chef. • We spent 5 days of Trek very well organized by Andean Hikers Peru, we booked with them the trek to Choquequirao 5 days 4 nights. We were 6 people in our group all from different countries, the Trek was led by our great guide Roger, I can't congratulate him on the trek we experienced quite strongly. It was very, kind, funny and above all very professional in his work, he always explained everything on the Inca culture, and everything on the Citadel of Choquequirao, better known as the twin of Machu Picchu. The market is very tough, the first part is all downhill, and then the second part is all uphill, so you must physically prepare to finish the trek successfully, fortunately we had Roger as a guide, who encouraged us to continue to the end. The team of people that use the Andean Hikers Peru for their treks, they are very professional and seem very happy in what they do, it's the case of Simon our chef and Adrian our muleteer, who have been a big help throughout the walk Thank you Simon for your delicious food and Adrian to load all our things with your mules. you made this adventure possible. The impressive beauty and the greatness of the Peruvian Andes to the service provided by Andean Hikers Peru and its brilliant workers. Hiking in the Choquequirao Trek is a necessity for all those who have a sense of adventure and who want to live an unforgettable experience. Finally I would recommend to the Andean Peru Hikers if you want to make the trek to Choquequirao, you won't regret.

  • This inca city was very important. Although for the moment it is very difficult to get through the long way (64,53 or 42 km) and how difficult ascent, worth 100%. Highly recommended. If they excavaran it whole, it would be 3 times larger than Macchu Picchu.
