Categories: Ruins, Historic Sites, Tourist Spots
Visit the Incan site of Choquequirao, a terraced structure similar in architecture to the famed Machu Picchu. Hike through peaceful valleys filled with large agave plants and interesting wildlife, learn about the Incan culture and history, and observe the artworks left over by a long-gone civilization. The Incan settlement can only be reached by a 2-4 day trek from Cusco, but you can choose to hike here on your own or on an organized tour with a guide, mules, and a chef. Before you head to Cusco, plan trip itinerary details with our user-friendly Cusco tour planner, to make sure you see all that Cusco has to offer, including Choquequirao.
