  • In Lake Titicaca are these artificial islands made from totora, a species of reed that is born in the same lake. They are therefore floating islands and when you are on them you can check it in person. In them they develop their activity the uros, an ancient ethnicity that communicate in Aymara, before quechua. Currently they live and are focused on tourism, in one of them there is a point where, as in MachPicchu, they seal your passport with memory.

  • This community is unique, do not miss to know them, to know their customs and life that last until today.

  • Bungalow of straw on the island. Everything is very spartan. No hot water. Toilet in a separate building. At night it is very cold (were in October), but give very warm thick blankets, so do not freeze. Many people take it without overnight. One night it is quite possible to spend, but on the second obviously will not want. :-) In the evening they fed quite tasty fish. No alcohol on the island, take it with you. Wi-Fi itself is not, but the island was caught Peruvian simki. In the morning they drove to another island and told about the life. Pretty interesting. I liked it. Although the living conditions were certainly tough.

  • This is an amazing place and not to be missed. Very different experience from other tours as we were guests of a local Uros' family. We were shown their way of life, went out fishing on a totora boat, ate local dishes and learned a lot about their history, threats and plans for the future. Thank you Luis, Rubén and Sylvia for your hospitality. We will never forget this.
  • We stayed one night. Overall, it's a great tour to experience traditional Uros life closely with the real Uros people. But, they should've set the expectation right. We received an email with action packed plans and we were excited, but that was our mistake. We were supposed to be picked up at 10am but Frank showed up around 10:20am (unfortunately, being late seems to be an epidemic problem in Puno. I highly recommend to stay at Bolivia side of Lake Titikaka rather than Puno). He wasn't receiving any call and responding any texts. He didn't even say sorry. Then, we couldn't see the main guide Luis until 7pm that day. We were just staying at small island. It was a good time to catch up my readings but clearly this is not good tourism practice. Around 7pm Luis showed and again he didn't say sorry. I was expecting an English speaking guide, but he barely speaks English. He speaks some, but most of them seem to be what he momorizes. He couldn't understand even very basic English sentences. Don't get me wrong, he and his wife are very nice people. This trip itself is very good. I'm mostly complaining about setting a right expectation. If a guide's English is not good then it should be better to say so honestly on the website.
  • Must see, but it gets boring after 10 minutes.
