Reserva Natural Marasha, Puerto Alegria

(4.8/5 based on 170 reviews on the web)
At Reserva Natural Marasha, hike through Amazon forest among huge trees, while exploring the diversity of wildlife, such as multicolored parrots and capybaras. Go sport fishing for piranha, take a ride in a kayak, or do some alligator spotting. Other safe and well-organized activities include a canopy zipline, swimming and canoeing in the picture-postcard lake, and guided walks through the jungle. The reserve gets its name from a small, spiny palm that grows around the lake. Relax in clean and comfortable wooden cabins (equipped with nets that keep out mosquitoes and other insects), and listen to the sounds of the jungle. • marasha is incredible, the service is excellent from his office to the reserve, edison and his partner were sooo attentive with us, we chatted, we share a while and gave us information and tips about that make marasha both other places we were going to meet. We arrived in season high water so we got in small small to reserve, where we were welcomed by Robert who was going to be our guide, we love... the service is personalized the welcomes you, accompanies you to the cabin, you called for the next activity, wants you to invite you to the dining room at every meal and you rise in the morning to watch the sunrise and do bird watching Finally takes you to the collection point when you have to leave. Robert was very good companion, helpful, friendly and very very prankster, always wants to take the hair, so we always had that laugh. the reserve as such is beautiful, though rustic provides all the amenities, the food is delicious (Peruvian) and is practically a "all you can eat", the rest of the staff is also friendly, facilities are safe and clean (as you can not think to bathe in the Lake, as it has eels, piranhas, anacondas and Caiman (we managed to see one of 4 meters swimming for cooking)) , you can see species such as chiguiros, macaws, parrots, toucans, herons, Guans and alligators without leaving their facility and the more important is that are free, come because they choose contrary to what they do in the community of puerto Alegría that extracted them from its habitat so that visitors pay some weights to see them tied until they die from not having the right conditions to live and repeat the cycle I invite you to support this type of tourism as regrettable. marasha is highly recommended, should be a destination forced in this region.

  • At first was unsure what to do when we got here. A beautiful lake encircled by massive Cebu trees and full of tiny piranha. Ask your guide and you might be able to fish for them with chicken skin from the cocina. Take the opportunity to kayak the lake and maybe sit in the hammock for a couple minutes. Beautiful.
  • OK...
  • This hotel is magical, it's rustic, does not have many amenities, but it is worthwhile to spend at least one night in the hostel. I'll be back and I will stay at least 1 week to relax and unwind me.

  • On arrival at the start of the walk is accessible to a spectacular view of the Amazon River. The hike is full of gigantic trees. Low season era and is could see the watermark in the bark of trees. Insects, fruits, flowers, roots modified, reptiles and amphibians different. The end of the road is an amazing construction on the banks of the dlnde Lake is having lunch in a common dining room and rest in cool hammocks on the shores of the Lake. Macaws, a pirarucu, a family of Capybaras and ceiba mas big that I've seen in my life awaits you at that point. The return boat has more surprises: birds and monkeys. A journey of beauty, wonder and learning.
