#3 of 9 in Things to do in Pucallpa
Spend some time at Plaza de Armas, a modern square in a lush vegetation setting with a striking obelisk at its center. Pay special attention to the plaza's impressive gleaming white fountain and monument, erected in tribute to Pucallpa's founders and pioneers. This ornamental fountain features granite sculptures, a row of flags, and three pools all representing the customs of the region's native people. Pay a visit to the Pucallpa Cathedral, located opposite the square, to supplement your time at the plaza. It was remodeled a few years ago and it has been very nice, easy access to difference before I had stairs everywhere.

Lively in the evenings with lots of benches to sit on. The city hall and church establish this as the center of Pucallpa. A pedestrian only street leads down to the Ucayali

Where to stay in Pucallpa

After centuries spent isolated from the country's main urban areas, the highway and airport brought a wave of development to Pucallpa, including a good range of accommodations. Hotels both simple and luxurious scatter throughout the main urban area; generally larger and more popular options line the main boulevards, while simpler, smaller hotels are tucked away in the city's side streets. The densest area of places to stay lies between Av. Centenario/Saenz Pena and the Ucayali River. In this neighborhood, many of the city's grandest hotels sit alongside more humble lodgings, with a number of rooms offering good views of the river.
