Playa de la Mina, Paracas

3.9
#2 of 10 in Parks in Ica Region
Beach Nature / Park
Get away from the heat and refresh yourself at Playa de la Mina. Situated 4 km (2.4 miles) from the town, the beach can only be accessed by car and is rarely crowded. Swim in the cool blue water, lounge on the sand, and experience the peaceful atmosphere of the isolated beach. As part of the Paracas National Reserve, the secluded cove is surrounded by desert and can get quite windy in the afternoons. Have a picnic, admire the backdrop of rocky cliffs, or try to spot the seabirds and dolphins that inhabit the area. • When newly promoted this place, it looked like a paradise, clean and calm to enjoy sea water. Regrettable was come and see disorder, people with no interest in the environment, throwing garbage, I was surprised enough that entire families with children do not give the example of caring for your heritage, the day we arrived with my friends, had an injured young sea lion (was clear bite he had received), children and adults who were not made there rather than teasing the poor animal , gave me much courage see that, despite the fact that I spoke and said that no people followed hassels, and Rangers from Playa La Mina annoy him, shining by their absence, one of my friends had to go to find one and let what happen, and is just there! that people stop bothering him. The waters were already contaminated, with bottles of soft drinks and other plastics, really a disappointment. You should put more order and above all restrict the entry of certain articles. I have hope that it will improve!

  • A beautiful beach. As a natural magic. Unfortunately I went in winter but I would have enjoyed even more. The color of the water is turquoise and transparent. The thick, white sand. It is worth visiting it.

  • always in the reserve you can see this very nice beach. Unfortunately, time does not permit a thorough visit.

Where to stay in Paracas

A beach resort town located close to a national park and several islands, Paracas benefits from a set of accommodations that suit the diverse tastes of its many visitors. Options both luxury and basic sit on the edge of the main coastal road, offering extensive views of the water and additional facilities, including pools, spas, and onsite restaurants. Move farther from the water to find budget-friendly guesthouses, offering comfortable rooms but few amenities. To the south, a cluster of eco-lodges and resorts mark the entrance to the national park, and make good use of the additional space just outside of the main town.
