  • While the mass pilgrimage to Machu Picchu, this place is ideal for explorers in peace to consider. Already from the first glance, you can see the discrepancy between the terraces and the very superiors on the Hill. The quality of the terraces is excellent so as seen by Incas -. But what you get to see the top is breathtaking. again, the precisely hewn stones, as they were once made out of a piece of butter. Again, the size and perfection, as known from Sacsayhuaman or museums and streets of Cusco. And again the explanation of the guides, the poor Inca had managed that with full commitment and tricks. Who visits this place so unprepared, will easily believe that. People who gained experience with heavy equipment millimetre to put tons heavy objects, will not come out however from Marvel. I'm your perfect patio construction for my part the Incas. But I speak the ability out of them, to have to do the planning and result in special stone with various chemical and mechanical properties and hardness has technical means and tools. Similar work I saw last at the foot of the Cheops pyramid and the Temple of Abydos in Egypt.

  • The village of Ollantaytambo has in if same a great reason to visit it Besides them centers archaeological that there can know is. In the first place still retains the Inca constructions and all dwellings of the people as base pre-Incan dwellings. Still retains the water channels that are extremely narrow and picturesque streets. It has a central square where you can find variety of stalls of crafts and great offers gastronomicas.la locals is very gentle and kind. Just two blocks from the main square, crossing the river Vilcanota can be a beautiful archaeological Center where there are countless of fundamental parts of the Inca and pre-Inca culture combination product. It is suitable for all ages, each at their own pace, without hurry to another, so that everyone can enjoy. This attraction costs 70 soles, and with it you have access to other three archaeological sites than they are in the Sacred Valley. Very useful is to several days, 4 or 5 in this town to archaeological centers with peace of mind. Front of this temple, crossing the village, which is very small, and two blocks square, towards the opposite side faced each other, other archaeological, which is free, and is excellent Centre! can be different types of constructions, as cells barns, towers of surveillance etc.. Access is difficult but not impossible, on the contrary, is very Casino and is quite fast. Suitable for all ages! Ollantaytambo offers excellent infrastructure to make base there, for access to the train that you leads to water hot, heading to the Machuy Pichuno in cuzco, that this quite far and is so populated. Super recommended! very quiet and guarded

  • In fact the title is wrong, it's not the "Temple of Ollantaytambo", but the "ruins of Ollantaytambo, where is located the" Temple of the Sun ". Is one of the most interesting ruins I consider my visit to Peru, but I agree with the assessment of Bruno posted here on Trip Advisor, you must schedule it before Machu Picchu. Are in good condition and its numerous terraces and the intelligence behind your building are impressive. It was built as a military, religious, administrative and agricultural. It's a good climb. The terraces are beautiful views and the view from the top that also makes it possible to have an overview of the village with the cold wind hitting the face is very interesting. Recommend!

  • What a lovely small town! Surrounded by fields growing in terraces created by the Incas or earlier peoples. The ruins here are considered better in some ways than Machu Picchu. It certainly is a good place to stay on your way to the more famous ruins.
  • Beautiful place to visit. These were the best ruins outside of the hike on our tour, and they definitely were a sight to behold. Being able to begin hearing about the architecture and culture was a great starting off point before we got into the hike. Definitely got me pumped for more.
  • Nice place if you visit it before Machu Pichu.
  • #1 macchu picchu #2 ollantaytambo #3 cusco Thats how i would rate peru
  • A day trip/overnight stay at Ollantaytambo city and ruins must be part of any Inca Trail and Machu Picchu itinerary.
