  • Place not to be missed! Without waste. Each step that climb is worth. The height is an important factor but do not be afraid! Rising slowly if necessary is equal.

  • Way between Cuzco and Machu Picchu can be a good option to sleep in the city and visit the archaeological site first thing in the morning. Will be empty and if you're lucky with the Sun making things more beautiful

  • Really great site, with storage facilities way up on the opposite mountain and two faces in the rock. One natural, one carved. Really cool. The terrace/steps take a bit of climbing and may leave you winded, but totally worth it for the view.
  • The stairs look more intimidating than they really are. Go to the top and wander the paths. My 66 year old mother could do it (slowly). Very cool place with a beautiful view.
  • Beautiful place to visit. These were the best ruins outside of the hike on our tour, and they definitely were a sight to behold. Being able to begin hearing about the architecture and culture was a great starting off point before we got into the hike. Definitely got me pumped for more.
  • Ollantaytambo is a village in the Sacred Valley of south Peru, set on the Urubamba River amid snow-capped mountains. It's known for the Ollantaytambo ruins, a massive Inca fortress with large stone terraces on a hillside. Major sites within the complex include the huge Sun Temple and the Princess Baths fountain. The village's old town is an Inca-era grid of cobblestoned streets and adobe buildings.
  • Great small town with lots of shops. The train station is a great way to get to MachuPicchu.
