Cantalloc Aqueduct, Nazca

(4.3/5 based on 340+ reviews on the web)
Cantalloc Aqueduct, an engineering marvel built by the Nazca civilization, remains in operation even today. The mysterious Nazca people were known only for their skillfully designed artifacts and geoglyphs, which makes this attraction a key to understanding their history and heritage. Carrying water from the mountain springs to the dry desert, the spiral subterranean aqueducts formed an impressive irrigation system, most of which still functions. Observe the helix-shaped structures and the stone work that remains from ancient times, or walk down to the bottom of an aqueduct, filled with clear drinkable water. Using our world travel planner, Nazca attractions like Cantalloc Aqueduct can form part of a personalized travel itinerary.

  • If visits Nasca, not only do the flyby... with my friends were two days in the city and take a tour by the afternoon where in 3 hours and by 20 Suns US led to know this and others two places typical of the sector. We could appreciate the intelligence and advanced mathematical thinking of culture is born to solve the shortage of water in a desert area. It's amazing to see such advanced engineering works for the season, totally recommended!

  • A system of aqueducts to bring water to an extremely arid area. Recommend go with guide private (not is very expensive) because you explains with detail and you makes see things that of another way not would fall by ti itself. It must bring good sun protection.
