Cantalloc Aqueduct, an engineering marvel built by the Nazca civilization, remains in operation even today. The mysterious Nazca people were known only for their skillfully designed artifacts and geoglyphs, which makes this attraction a key to understanding their history and heritage. Carrying water from the mountain springs to the dry desert, the spiral subterranean aqueducts formed an impressive irrigation system, most of which still functions. Observe the helix-shaped structures and the stone work that remains from ancient times, or walk down to the bottom of an aqueduct, filled with clear drinkable water. Using our world travel planner, Nazca attractions like Cantalloc Aqueduct can form part of a personalized travel itinerary.
