Pacaya Samiria, Loreto Region

(4.7/5 based on 200+ reviews on the web)
Explore the untamed nature of the second-largest reserve in the basin at Pacaya Samiria. Home to over 1,000 animal and plant species, the reserve preserves the natural ecosystem while allowing for the development of nearby villages. Visitors typically join a tour operator to learn about the area and its animal and plant life through first-hand experience trekking and boating through the rainforest. Several endangered and exotic species call the reserve home, including the spider monkey, pink dolphin, and giant river otter. While here, consider visiting one of the villages to learn about the locals' fishing, farming, hunting, and scavenging responsibilities. Use our Nauta vacation route planner to add Pacaya Samiria and other attractions to your Nauta vacation plans.

  • We went as a couple and I recommend to everyone going through this great place! in the forest we saw everything. 100% natural, animal, views, sounds... the only thing that gave us hesitation is security issue since no knew the site. We found this web monetravel.com looking for there opinions and reserve on its website output, there gave us all kinds of securities, because it was great, we had no problems.

  • Hello, I was on the side of Lakes to the reserve. Absolutely incredible. I'm Chilean and not vacuné me against nothing, yellow fever? Nothing happened. I recommend not drinking water in any circumstances, only bottled. And much repellent, summer clothes and a good camera! Ah! And sunscreen and a hat to protect! Live experience is, the guides are a love! Greetings and good trip! (Go directly to Tarapoto, then Yurimaguas to take a boat to lakes. Look for the Agency Tibilo. (We met July and Reiner our guides, a pleasure to know them!)
