Government Building Architectural Building
One of the country's most important governmental buildings, Presidential Palace (Palacio de Gobierno) serves as the official residence of the president. The current building was completed in 1937 in an elegant, stately Neo-Baroque style, though different forms of governmental offices have stood here since 1535. The guards standing at attention and the iconic wrought iron fence neatly complement the grandeur and seriousness of this major landmark. • Part of a tour of the Free Tour, where they explain you everything about this Government Palace, where as if it were that of Buckingham takes place instead of guard every midday and tradition that remains more by tourist spectacle than anything else, but it is worth looking at it.

  • To visit the historical centre we could see many tourist attractions, but one of the important is without doubt the imposing presidential palace where President of Peru, has a pretty colonial design, its architecture is interesting, also there is a March of soldiers with music at noon where many people on all tourists gather to appreciate the show, it is a good point to be able to begin to know the beautiful capital of Lima.

  • A walk through the plaza de armas not can be complete without visiting the Palace of Government, at 12 o'clock of the day you can see the changing of the guard and lunch by the restaurants in the area.

Where to stay in Lima

One of Peru's most expensive destinations, Lima offers accommodations that range from modern hotel high-rises to family-run guesthouses. Most visitors stay in Barranco, Miraflores, or San Isidro, three of the city's safest and prettiest neighborhoods, which offer a good selection of budget lodgings. For something truly authentic, look for hotels located in restored mansions, many of which offer pleasant rooms overlooking manicured enclosed gardens, ideal for enjoying romantic meals or hosting small private parties.
