Presidential Palace (Palacio de Gobierno), Lima

(4.1/5 based on 500+ reviews on the web)
One of the country's most important governmental buildings, Presidential Palace (Palacio de Gobierno) serves as the official residence of the president. The current building was completed in 1937 in an elegant, stately Neo-Baroque style, though different forms of governmental offices have stood here since 1535. The guards standing at attention and the iconic wrought iron fence neatly complement the grandeur and seriousness of this major landmark.
