Parque Zoologico Huachipa, Lima

3.0
#6 of 16 in Zoos & Aquariums in Peru
Zoo / Aquarium Nature / Park
Parque Zoologico Huachipa takes a more hand-on and close-up approach to animal observation. Explore the zoo's petting workshops for sheep, camels, and vicunas, and enjoy close interaction with a variety of big cats--including the increasingly rare white tiger--separated by reinforced glass. Pay special attention to the extensive and informative aviary and section dedicated to the Amazon rainforest. Because of the zoo's location a fair distance from most touristy spots, consider taking a taxi here, unless you're familiar with the area. • I arrived at Huachipa's zoo at 10:00am on a quiet Monday moring. Animals are in a pretty good condition. It's a perfect place for people who don't know Andean species. The zoo offers three restaurants...  more »

  • They need to take care of the animals in there they also need cleaner bathrooms but after all it's a good place for kids the animals are great only animals that you will see in PERU
  • A family friendly zoo with a various species of animals. There are some really cool animals which are seen only in PERU. The zoo is over crowded with people during holidays. I am not happy with animal enclosures, because they are quite small for the animals. The zoo needs more attention about cleanliness, animal care. The zoo needs some improvements in many areas. I enjoyed the conceptual exhibits in the zoo. overall It's a good place to spend your time with kids and family.
  • Me gustooo

Where to stay in Lima

One of Peru's most expensive destinations, Lima offers accommodations that range from modern hotel high-rises to family-run guesthouses. Most visitors stay in Barranco, Miraflores, or San Isidro, three of the city's safest and prettiest neighborhoods, which offer a good selection of budget lodgings. For something truly authentic, look for hotels located in restored mansions, many of which offer pleasant rooms overlooking manicured enclosed gardens, ideal for enjoying romantic meals or hosting small private parties.
