Parque de la Reserva, Lima

4.6
#1 of 207 in Parks in Peru
Among the cool greenery of Parque de la Reserva, admire one of the largest fountain complexes in the world. Water features include jets shooting over 80 m (262 ft) in the air, tunnels of water through which you can walk, and interactive fountains for children to play in. Every evening, the fountain transforms with a water, light, and laser show, synchronized to music. The park also houses many sculptures by Peruvian artists, and various monuments and buildings in a neoclassical style. Kids can ride a small train around the park. Consider bringing a change of clothes if you plan on splashing in the fountains. Only for 4 soles. The dancing water show is very entertaining, line up early, they are serious about not being able to stand on the grass. There's a fun water maze for children. There is a second part...  more »

Nice to visit from 6-8 pm. When it's not really windy. Nice if you bring change of clothing so you can also play in those fountain. Good for family especially kids. And remember to get the map so you won't miss the other fountain in the other side of the park. You need to use the tunnel to visit it.

Great park, this one has the fountains going, think it was S.4 per person for entrance. They offer guides but you don't need them.

A wonderful experience hidden in Lima's heart. Prepare yourselves though. You might get wet if you enjoy some fun...really wet!!!

Would recommend the fountain light show at night. Some impressive fountains and cheap entry. Show 3 times a night and lasts for about 20min

Espectacular show, very well organized and the water fountains are the best in South America. You can find traditional Peruvian dishes just outside the park, good food.

Where to stay in Lima

One of Peru's most expensive destinations, Lima offers accommodations that range from modern hotel high-rises to family-run guesthouses. Most visitors stay in Barranco, Miraflores, or San Isidro, three of the city's safest and prettiest neighborhoods, which offer a good selection of budget lodgings. For something truly authentic, look for hotels located in restored mansions, many of which offer pleasant rooms overlooking manicured enclosed gardens, ideal for enjoying romantic meals or hosting small private parties.
