This museum houses and amazing collection of Peruvian colonial art, all hanging within the various rooms of an old mansion. It's very beautiful and worth a trip.  more »

The Museum exhibits an interesting collection of pre-inca art (pottery, figurines,...), silver, and paintings from the Cusqueña school and Lima. Great explanation of the Guide to miracles to understand the details of the exhibition.

The Museum has several samples, including: painting cuzquena, silverware, a sample of the cultures of Peru and a few rooms decorated with period furniture. We had the opportunity to make an educational visit, we love. The entrance is 20 adult soles and 10 soles students.

We literally ran through this one as we had 15 minutes before closing. Should have done this one first then the MATE. Whatever I laid eyes on was worth a lot more time than I could give it. The museum is surprisingly largish inside.

Where to stay in Lima

One of Peru's most expensive destinations, Lima offers accommodations that range from modern hotel high-rises to family-run guesthouses. Most visitors stay in Barranco, Miraflores, or San Isidro, three of the city's safest and prettiest neighborhoods, which offer a good selection of budget lodgings. For something truly authentic, look for hotels located in restored mansions, many of which offer pleasant rooms overlooking manicured enclosed gardens, ideal for enjoying romantic meals or hosting small private parties.
