Museo Pedro de Osma, Lima

4.6
#7 of 32 in Museums in Lima
Admire a small but memorable collection of colonial-era art at Museo Pedro de Osma, occupying a century-old mansion. The museum artfully displays its works through a series of grand rooms, with Peruvian paintings, furniture, sculpture, and jewelry taking top billing. Many of the paintings use the city as their setting, allowing you to see the changes that occurred in the urban area during and after the colonial era. • The Museum is located next to the Museum of Mate of Mario Testino. You can visit the 2 by purchasing the ticket in Matt and get best price. Wonderful colonial House with a huge garden, both in the front as in the rear. Furniture and interesting paintings. Precious windows of the main house. In the back of the garden there is a Museum of the silver that there are good parts. Recommended

  • We literally ran through this one as we had 15 minutes before closing. Should have done this one first then the MATE. Whatever I laid eyes on was worth a lot more time than I could give it. The museum is surprisingly largish inside.

Where to stay in Lima

One of Peru's most expensive destinations, Lima offers accommodations that range from modern hotel high-rises to family-run guesthouses. Most visitors stay in Barranco, Miraflores, or San Isidro, three of the city's safest and prettiest neighborhoods, which offer a good selection of budget lodgings. For something truly authentic, look for hotels located in restored mansions, many of which offer pleasant rooms overlooking manicured enclosed gardens, ideal for enjoying romantic meals or hosting small private parties.
