Specialty Museum
Browse a collection of micro minerals and crystallized pieces at Museo de Minerales Andres del Castillo, which also houses Chancay ceramics and textiles dated to before 1532. Although ostensibly dedicated to the mining history of Peru, the museum's collection of clothing and ceramics make it of interest to anyone looking for a broader view of the country's history, before and after the arrival of European settlers. The museum is very elegantly organized and housed in a restored historic house. To visit Museo de Minerales Andres del Castillo and other attractions in Lima, use our Lima tour planner.

  • Unique and true to the natural beauty that lies deep in the soil of this rugged land. The rock, minerals are spectacular and displayed beautifully. The building housing the museum is a gorgeous rebuilt mansion dating back to 1606 with part of its history as the American Embassy in Lima. Peru has a significant mining history and this museum display the beauty of it in a wonderful building in a great location . Make this a stop, it wont take long.
  • Love this museum! Would recommend to anyone!
  • Impressed so much! Special thanks to the people who work at the museum. Incredibly attentive, kind and open people.
  • Excellent, really shows the mineral and cultural richness of Peru, are perfectly illuminated environments, minerals are well distributed according to their classification and they can see perfectly, the room of fluorescent minerals also is amazing, the only recommendation is not to stay too long in that room by exposure to uv rays which can damage your eyesight , all this perfect, is a great place to visit

  • They told me ten, they charged me five. But it was worth House Sun, isn't very full but has a major exhibition of stones, rocks, contemporary art and precious vessels of the ancient Peru. What I liked most was the camera of ultra violet light, which is all dark and the stones will shine.
