Museo de Minerales Andres del Castillo, Lima
(4.6/5 based on 80+ reviews on the web)
Browse through important crystallized minerals, ceramics, and clothing as you make your way through Museo de Minerales Andres del Castillo. Named after a mining engineer who died at age 21, the museum works to inspire future generations and act as a living museum of Peruvian artistic impression. The extensive collection of minerals has afforded Peru the title of one of the most prolific countries in the world for minerals. The museum also houses Chancay ceramics, dating from 900 to 1,500 CE. Meanwhile, the museum's collection of prints, textiles, and accessories document pre-Hispanic clothing in Peru. The museum is very elegantly organized, housed in a beautiful, restored historic house.
