The Lucumo Lomas are 30 minutes from Lima to Pachacamac. It is very easy to get there. They are a green, green, lomas that despite being in desert terrain, the moisture of the place, are all green. It is very cute. The idea is to go to visit them. They have 2 routes: the long which takes approximately 5 hours to finish it and the short that takes approximately 3 hours. I have not done the length, but the short is very nice as you go through a series of viewpoints from where can be seen throughout the Valley and rocky formations of the most eccentric, including the cliffs, rocks of 40 meters high, which is practiced rappelling weekends. Very nice experience, ideal for those who want to spend a different time breathing air or for those who want to train yourself to make an escalation, a marathon, or the road to Santiago. One arrives at the entrance, paid 8 soles per adult and has where to leave your car. Don't forget to do it!

The Lucumo hills are found in Quebrada Verde, to get on your own, you must get to Pachacamac, take a few groups that take you to the square and you can take a motorcycle taxi to the entrance. You pay for access, and you can ask for guidance, or if you like to go on your own, give you a small map. The path is well signposted, and you can opt for two routes. It is a good walk, if you do it with patience you can take a morning. On public holidays, it is very visited. While it is true they promote the watching of flora and fauna, you won't find them if there are many visitors. The visit to these hills is seasonal, because their season is during the winter months where moisture makes everything to flourish. It is recommended to go with good shoes, water, and with a thin jacket, then at the top enough mist can concentrate and runs a cold air. Lowering of the walk, you can dine at the various restaurants of Pachacamac, or return to Lima. You can also go with your pet, not restrict them access, that if having their shots a day and be careful with the steep slopes.

Reach Lucumo, is easy. Truck up to the junction of Lurín and Pachacamac, then a combi that leaves you close to the entrance. The walk if you opt for the long route is 4 h drive, I recommend this route because you reach the viewpoint, raisins small cave in contrast to the short route (2 h). Now in August, you can appreciate better the hills because everything is green.

A wonderful space of nature in the middle of the city missed to visit family between the months of August and November.

Cute place to enjoy with friends, family or doing some walking exercise and if you wish rappelling, surrounded by nature next to the city. Knowing the fragility of the lomas ecosystem that is surrounding our city.

It is a great place to venture out. There is no need to go with a guide, of course I would have liked to know a little more the history of this place, but definitely worth it.

Where to stay in Lima

One of Peru's most expensive destinations, Lima offers accommodations that range from modern hotel high-rises to family-run guesthouses. Most visitors stay in Barranco, Miraflores, or San Isidro, three of the city's safest and prettiest neighborhoods, which offer a good selection of budget lodgings. For something truly authentic, look for hotels located in restored mansions, many of which offer pleasant rooms overlooking manicured enclosed gardens, ideal for enjoying romantic meals or hosting small private parties.
