  • I am Peruvian and I like to travel, in the center of Lima there is always something new to learn. Today day went to perform a process to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and as it was with time and with the mood I started my walk, I was with studs then go to a craft store and bought me my Andean shoes S /. 35.00. Visit many places will start by THE MUSEUM / HOUSE OF PERUVIAN CUISINE. The entry S /. 3.00 less than a dollar, is located in the center of Lima a few steps from the Palace of Government Jr. Conde de Superunda 170, Cercado de Lima. I am proud to have this Museum, created 5 year ago. Peru is one of the gastronomic points more important internationally, many foreigners are captivated with the variety of our delicious dishes, Peruvian starting with ceviche. and others as having three regions, each region has its charm and its specialty. The Peru has more than 5,000 varieties of potatoes. Globally, it is considered the first country in biodiversity of potatoes. The Cusco region is one of the places in Peru, with the highest diversity of native potatoes, with an average of 1 500 varieties of native potatoes. You can find information on the INTERNATIONAL POTATO CENTER. The Museum is beautiful, there is much visual explanation for the general public. The modules perfectly staged and well represented with mannequins (with original costumes) explanation of our gastronomic traditions and the influence of all citizens who emigrated from other countries. Peru is a country of arms and open heart and its gastronomic variety shows it. Alien who came and stayed brought their culinary customs and I merge them with ours. Perfect mix! I recommend the visit to this Museum, not only to the students of gastronomy, to the general public by its own culture it is good to know what eats a country, we are producers of many food products our food is very healthy.

  • Interesting information to know various aspects of Peruvian cuisine, from its origins and the way in which has been merging with the contributions of different cultures. It also allows knowing the areas which come many of the foods that we have seen or tried in Lima and compare with food and forms of preparation of other countries. There is a room that projects videos, but they were not transferred at that moment, it would be interesting to have a permanent rotating.
