  • Is a very nice colonial neighbourhood full of life in its parks, where you can cross the bridge of Sighs, know the Hermitage of Barranco, the Memorial Church to Chabuca Granda, or nearly there visit the art gallery and craft Daedalus, no doubt a great panorama!

  • This colorful adobe church still shows its glory in the beautiful yellow tone. We visited as part of the day tour to see the Barranco area: Bridge of Sigh, the ocean, plaza, and the park nearby. Beaut...  more »
  • One of the tourist attractions in the ravine. Located in front of the bridge of sighs and diagonally to the statue of Chabuca Granda. This closed by parts, but outside is very cute and worth taking photos.

  • La Ermita Church is a Catholic Church located in Santiago de Cali, Colombia. It was originally a construction hut at the beginning of the 17TH century, set in the vicinity of the Cali River and dedicated to Nuestra Señora de la Soledad and the Lord of the Reed. This ancient chapel was a construction without much architectural value known only through a painting of Farfan. It was a very simple construction, as they are most of the ancient buildings in the Valle del Cauca. The earthquake in 1787, the simple Church was thrown down and it only retained the image of the Lord of the Reed. In 1942, was built the Church seen today, which is one of the architectural landscape of the city of Cali. The current building is a neo-Gothic church in miniature, and as many neo-Gothic churches in America is inspired by the Cathedral of Ulm, Germany. The new Hermitage is dedicated to our Lady of sorrows and in its interior preserves the ancient image of the Lord of the Reed on the left side altar. Both Lord of the Reed, the main altar are in white marble. The Bell Tower and clock are now in process of restoration. [citation needed] The stained glass windows represent the image of the Holy Apostles. The current Chapel is a church with three naves, ribbed Vault. The Church is very visited by many tourists each year.

Where to stay in Lima

One of Peru's most expensive destinations, Lima offers accommodations that range from modern hotel high-rises to family-run guesthouses. Most visitors stay in Barranco, Miraflores, or San Isidro, three of the city's safest and prettiest neighborhoods, which offer a good selection of budget lodgings. For something truly authentic, look for hotels located in restored mansions, many of which offer pleasant rooms overlooking manicured enclosed gardens, ideal for enjoying romantic meals or hosting small private parties.
