Huaca Pucllana, Lima

(4.4/5 based on 4,600+ reviews on the web)
In stark contrast to the skyscrapers and modern infrastructure surrounding it, the steep stones of Huaca Pucllana boast more than 1,000 years of history. The adobe pyramid, standing in what is now the center of Peru's capital, was built by before 700 CE by the pre-Inca people known as the Lima. Constructed from seven rising platforms, the pyramid served as a power base for elite clergymen, from which they controlled the affairs of society. Gaze upon the pyramid and imagine the mystical ceremonies that were conducted in this holy place more than a thousand years ago. • Archaeological site located within the city of Lima-Peru. Quick ride, with multilingual guide. Wear a hat, sunscreen, wear closed-toe shoes and comfortable. I really enjoyed.

  • I loved knowing the history! The super tour good and well lit. Is worth enough the penalty go, know the history and then go to eat to the restaurant.

  • It's a beautiful place, a history of the ancestors, with ruins, excavations and archaeological sanctuary, the restaurant Huaca Pucllana is a place of great food, not to mention that you have lunch with a view of the ruins of the sanctuary.

  • As a pre-Incan setting, this place is a good option to star discovering Lima's history. The site and the guided tour (there are both in Spanish and English and it's included in your entrance fee) are very instructive: you'll leave with the feeling you've learnt something.
  • Excellent tour of this remarkable Pre Incan religious site. Very interesting walk to top!!!
  • Excellent place. From service to choices to flavors and even to prices. With such views you'd think it's highly expensive and it is affordable expensive :) Depending on where you come from it might even be very good value. But totally worth it of an experience. And the flavors and portions along with staff perfectly trained made it for an experience I'll repeat every chance I can.
  • Nice and inexpensive attraction to learn about ancient Liman history. Tours are included in the price (you have to have a guide to walk around the site) and are available in Spanish or English. Took about an hour with a large group.
  • This is an amazing pre-inca site in the middle of miraflores. The site is amazing and still being excavated.
