Categories: Ruins, Historic Sites, Tourist Spots
Inspirock Rating:
4.4/5 based on 4,000+ reviews on the web
In stark contrast to the skyscrapers and modern infrastructure surrounding it, the steep stones of Huaca Pucllana boast more than 1,000 years of history. The adobe pyramid, standing in what is now the center of Peru's capital, was built by before 700 CE by the pre-Inca people known as the Lima. Constructed from seven rising platforms, the pyramid served as a power base for elite clergymen, from which they controlled the affairs of society. Gaze upon the pyramid and imagine the mystical ceremonies that were conducted in this holy place more than a thousand years ago. • Excellent place. From service to choices to flavors and even to prices. With such views you'd think it's highly expensive and it is affordable expensive :) Depending on where you come from it might even be very good value. But totally worth it of an experience. And the flavors and portions along with staff perfectly trained made it for an experience I'll repeat every chance I can.
  • This is an amazing pre-inca site in the middle of miraflores. The site is amazing and still being excavated.

  • An amazing site that delves into the pre-Columbian and pre-Incan history of Lima. My guide today was super friendly and knowledgeable and answered all questions asked of her. This archeological site is self funded so please visit and support. You'll have an amazing day. Well worth the 12 soles
  • Strange seeing these pre-inca ruins in the middle of such modernity. The guided tours are good value at S/12 each.
