El Parque del Amor, Lima

4.1
#2 of 23 in Parks in Lima
You don't have to be on a romantic trip to appreciate El Parque del Amor (though it may help). The park features a robust statue depicting a pair of lovers engaged in a passionate embrace, unveiled in 1993. More specifically, the couple represents the sculptor, Victor Delfín, and his wife. Behind it, the blue Pacific stretches out to the horizon. After admiring the park's impeccably maintained gardens--and taking the obligatory photo in front of the statue--pop down to the adjoining beach for a refreshing dip. An excellent place for is good photos and a souvenir of the Lima malecon. It allows a break along the malecon, which can be done by walking or cycling. There is a small kiosk with a few intractable natural juices.

The park itself is not well maintained, lack support and explanation for the tourist. It has a great view where you can see the coast.

A small park along the Lima coastline. This park is linked amongst a long walking and biking trail that follows the coastline. Not much father is a famous lighthouse to the north. This park seems very popular with tourists and locals as it was quite crowded. There are police walking around nearby. I was under the impression they don't want people sleeping on the grass. Which I find odd as many people go to these parks to sit, lay down, or picnic.

I recommend walking along the shore/cliff edge and making your way to this park. The actual statue wasn't amazing (in my opinion) but the whole area is relaxing and beautiful. I liked going down the steps to the water.

It's a park dedicated to Love. It has beautiful views just close to the sèa. Around there are many tourist attractions and a mall with good restaurants and food court.

Where to stay in Lima

One of Peru's most expensive destinations, Lima offers accommodations that range from modern hotel high-rises to family-run guesthouses. Most visitors stay in Barranco, Miraflores, or San Isidro, three of the city's safest and prettiest neighborhoods, which offer a good selection of budget lodgings. For something truly authentic, look for hotels located in restored mansions, many of which offer pleasant rooms overlooking manicured enclosed gardens, ideal for enjoying romantic meals or hosting small private parties.
