You don't have to be on a romantic trip to appreciate El Parque del Amor (though it may help). The park features a robust statue depicting a pair of lovers engaged in a passionate embrace, unveiled in 1993. More specifically, the couple represents the sculptor, Victor Delfín, and his wife. Behind it, the blue Pacific stretches out to the horizon. After admiring the park's impeccably maintained gardens--and taking the obligatory photo in front of the statue--pop down to the adjoining beach for a refreshing dip. Where to stay in Lima

One of Peru's most expensive destinations, Lima offers accommodations that range from modern hotel high-rises to family-run guesthouses. Most visitors stay in Barranco, Miraflores, or San Isidro, three of the city's safest and prettiest neighborhoods, which offer a good selection of budget lodgings. For something truly authentic, look for hotels located in restored mansions, many of which offer pleasant rooms overlooking manicured enclosed gardens, ideal for enjoying romantic meals or hosting small private parties.

  • Normally visited for young people in love, most people ask marriage there and get engaged. It is a romantic place if you love someone.  more »
  • Very interesting with a great view of the ocean. However not worthwhile going out of your way to visit. Sculptures are interesting.  more »
  • We found this when we were just walking around Lima, along the coastline. The park area around here has little workout stations. Great views. Not anything exciting to head to on purpose but great to s...  more »

  • I recommend walking along the shore/cliff edge and making your way to this park. The actual statue wasn't amazing (in my opinion) but the whole area is relaxing and beautiful. I liked going down the steps to the water.
  • 5 stars because it is one of the main parks on the malecón, and it's filled with amor (love). If you want a romantic evening, bring your significant other and a bottle of wine to watch the sun set over the ocean horizon. In the center is a statue of a couple from the Andes kissing. Around the park there are romantic phrases/poetry in Spanish, Quechua, and Aymara.
  • Sweet park! Great sunset views. It does get crowded on weekends. Statues are fun and interesting. Watch the parachuters Glide above you. Coming here was a very memorable part of my visit to Lima.
  • Cute place to hang out with my boyfriend, people is so respectful and they are always so fresh and happy. And the sunset is the best part!
  • Great place to watch surfers and paragliding. Nice crepes and coffee stand in the area
