Specialty Museum Museum
Explore the chocolate-making process and get some tasty products for yourself at ChocoMuseo. Watch a video on how chocolate is made and then try it yourself in one of the workshops, where you are personally introduced to the process before making some yourself. Be sure to try some of the samples of different types of chocolate products, too, including smooth chocolate liqueurs and teas. Before leaving, check out the shop where they have various chocolate products available for purchase. ChocoMuseo is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our world travel planner, Lima Edition.

  • Choco Museum has several stores in Peru. Is a site that gives chocolate workshops, being an attractive for activities in the city. The site has several chocolate-based products, many same. But the chocolate is not the hottest. Is chocolate with more like cocoa, and myself really enjoying this taste, I really enjoyed the chocolate. Beyond the bars have a high price. Nominate meet the site because the visit is fast.

  • Visit the Choco Museum was very interesting because we learned about the process from cocoa, they explained in detail the process to reach the final phase of the chocolate as well as everything it could taste some chocolates as white, black and Brown, plus also there is a small workshop for people who want to learn how to prepare some desserts or chocolate,

  • The small free tour was informative. The banana split is amazing, and make sure to grab an orange peel chocolate bar
  • Cute place with friendly service and staff.. Make your own hot chocolates in different styles (you get hot choc, different ingredients to mix and match) and some yummy desserts. Looks like they offer workshops on chocolate making too that seem fun..
  • We were forced here via a food tour we took (food walking tour Peru, which was very very good) and it's definitely a little touristy. The ice cream is decent though, there's a nice seating area outside with a bathroom.
  • The chocolate in the mocha was good, very rich and a bit earthy. Staff were very friendly
  • Is Museum that serves CHOCOLATE!!! Find out where is located and visit it, because is right smack in the middle of Miraflores and you are probably going to be staying near by. This is a coffee shop AND a chocolate factory. The walls are all filled with maps and drawings about the chocolate industry and culture. The experience is a bit awkward because the waiters are expected to be some sort of Chocolate experts and that does not work with everyone. My advise? Get a table, order something fancy to drink there and perhaps buy a present to take home or eat at the hotel later on. Peru has some exotic chocolate farms (and coffee farms) on or near the Amazon Jungle and this will be your best shot at experiencing that.

Where to stay in Lima

One of Peru's most expensive destinations, Lima offers accommodations that range from modern hotel high-rises to family-run guesthouses. Most visitors stay in Barranco, Miraflores, or San Isidro, three of the city's safest and prettiest neighborhoods, which offer a good selection of budget lodgings. For something truly authentic, look for hotels located in restored mansions, many of which offer pleasant rooms overlooking manicured enclosed gardens, ideal for enjoying romantic meals or hosting small private parties.
