The seaport connected Peru with the rest of the world since colonial times, and today contains Lima's international airport.   • Second time on a cruise stop in Lima, and cruise staff have been VERY negative about Callao, the port area for Lima) both times. Apparently it can be dangerous in some areas, but if you taxi in to the...  more »
  • What if you embark on a walk by Callao... do not think nothing of what you say... He sees the Church, stroll along the Monumental Callao, it takes a kind of graffiti, then go to Chucuito and walk their callesitas painted in colors, take the classic photo and then go to the window of the medium by a fresh fruit chup. Now if causes you a chicken to grilled a rather rich site; but. advances (by car) and go to the tip, maleconea, walking, breathing pure air. There are several rich cevicherías. If you have time go to the naval museum is very nice, especially if you go with children... and don't miss the Real Felipe fortress. not to be missed.

  • I think that to my previous visits, I found it somewhat unsafe, dirty streets. While it is true, it has interesting cuisine, is below the expected.
