  • It is certainly an experience that should not be overlooked. All begins very early from Huancayo following a route that leads to the 4000masl. Then from the point called Virgen de las Nieves begins the walk of 6 hours back and forth until it snowed. The road was too demanding, luckily I could make a new friend with whom I was accompanied during the entire tour. Luckily we were which better rhythm going all the group. On the way time gaps of various colors, the icy wind blowing in your face and the view of the snow gets better everytime you come more. Far more fun is when you get to the snow and spend a good time with the group, you can play and make snowmen. The descent is much more easy but as always with care not to slip. It was a pleasant experience that never will forget, I hope to return soon!

  • Incredible. Despite having been at parties where the view was filled with are amazing. The municipality should try to fix a little tracks to the extent that does not destroy the landscape.

  • During the transport to the starting point were we totally enthusiastic about the beautiful landscape – mountains, whose Gipfel lay in the snow and blue sky. In contrast to other operators, we chose a different route and came relatively quickly through a path down to a small lake. There, a traditional ritual held then, what we should buy things in a place on the transport route (bamboo liquor, coca leaves, certain cigarettes, fruit). I have nothing against such rituals in principle, but I believe that it ended so that all waste in nature was left (around waving plastic bags, cigarette remains). The other route was very exhausting and it went steeply uphill. A participant of our group had so much problems with the height, that she had to vomit and then from the bus driver (who accompanied our tour) back to the bus be brought had to. Then, was our guide with 16 participants alone and, sadly, had the group not in the grip. Sometimes you also didn't know where the guide was just, because to have distributed the participant on the track, that you could no longer see all. The track segments were sometimes very dangerous (walk at an angle on the slope) and the 5000 m height affect also the breathing despite several days of acclimatization in Huancayo. According to the description of the tour we should hike 3 h, of which 2 h of ascent and descent of 1 h. This assessment was completely unrealistic for our range. At the end of the day, we were to have made 8 h moved without a proper break. Objective of the rise was a snow field, where you "could play a bit in the snow". For people who have never seen snow, this may be perhaps unbelievable, but had I previously told this, I'd previously 1 km at the crossroads are surrounded lovers and would have spared me the steep slope. The return proved to be not necessarily easier than the climb because it was sometimes extremely steeply downhill and the way was not correctly identified. Our group was distributed over the entire route again and I ran around with a friend just two. Behind us was a family with a 6 year old child which I would very strongly advise against. This tour is not for a child to cope with. During the descent, hunger, thirst, exhaustion made and powerlessness felt - walking at 8 h we were not prepared. At some point, we saw the Guide behind us happily again and waited to go further together. Little account has been taken of our exhaustion and the guide said to us only "next, next". In hindsight I would this justify, that it was clear that it would be dark soon. First we came in a fairly thick smoke screen, and within 10 minutes it was then stockduster (18: 00). Alone, we would definitely no longer found their way to the parking lot. At the end of our strength, we arrived then and now collapsed (mentally and physically). Not 5 minutes later a snowstorm began and we were happy to sit at least back in the bus. However, two members of our group were missing. You had problems during the climb and were now all alone in the dark somewhere in the mountains. Our guide made with the bus driver and a flashlight on the way again, but couldn't find anyone. Two hours we gathered in the snow in the bus and it was not even possible to make an emergency call. Then we drove the mountain without the two missing boys (old mid-20s) back down back direction of Huancayo. On the way, our guide got out then a few locals and other guides to drive back to search again for the boy. Due to the cold and snow, we could believe hardly on a positive outcome of the events. Since we were this day and the fate of the two boys no longer out of my head, we contacted the Organizer a day later again and he could give all-clear to happiness. The two boys were found late in the evening probably still and it seems good to go them. Sure, this review is already a quite unique case and you can feel this tour certainly as incredible and wonderful, but also risks. Under the assumption that we 8 h 5000m above sea level hike, I would have not participated in this tour. I can really only any advise to be whether he physically cope with such a tour is really aware of the fact. I think the biggest problem was that our bus driver had to descend at an early stage, so that only one companion was present with a member of the group, and it was not possible to keep the group together. I believe that the Guide at the weakest members of our group would have must remain or at an early stage a descent must decide when it was obvious that the tour for some was hard to deal with.
