Visit The Monkey Island, a family-run project that promotes the conservation and protection of native monkey species. Since its opening in 1997, the organization has been caring for abandoned or injured monkeys, with the goal of returning them to the wild. Take a boat trip by yourself or as part of a guided tour, explore the island, and meet its resident primates. You'll have the chance to interact with spider monkeys, howlers, tamarins, marmosets, and other native Peruvian species. You can roam the lush green jungle, hang out with the volunteers, and even volunteer yourself at the non-profit organization. Note: do not confuse this island with another of the same name, much closer to the port. Several reports cite poor conditions for the monkeys at the latter. • Quite interesting species that are shown in a brief. The only caveat is that the price per person is too high in relation to other tourist attractions in the area. A price is fair to s /. 8 s / 10 Suns and not of S /. 20 as is is charging now.

  • This refuge or sanctuary is located river above Iquitos, maybe one hour by boat or less depending on the quality of pot you use. It is a very big place and have several animals, depends on the season in which you are going may vary. On this occasion had several types of monkeys, macaws, a Toucan, sloth, a coati and a boa. Most are touching and caressing until feeding, except the coati that is rather aggressive. Recommended if you like to watch animals, play with them and take photos. But obviously this is not a Habitat natural or much less.
