Tapiche Reserve, Iquitos

(4.9/5 based on 85 reviews on the web)
For a truly secluded Amazonian experience, look no further than Tapiche Reserve, a privately owned and operated conservation area accessible only by waterway. Wildlife here includes endangered species such as jaguars, giant armadillo, harpy eagles, and the Brazilian tapir, so you'll spot all kinds of creatures along the trail through lush, thick jungle. The 1,540 hectare (3,805 acre) reserve exists on a strictly no-hunting and conservation-led principle; ticket sales go toward the efforts at preserving this Amazonian paradise. Due to its distance from the nearest town, the attraction doesn't draw crowds--making it the perfect place if you're seeking something remote. • The Tapiche reserve is definitely worth a visit. The staff and the owners do their best, so it will be a unique experience. Already, the arrival by boat is an experience. 4 rivers takes area hours into the Amazon 6-7. On site you will find everything you need. The accommodation is beautifully located on the banks of the Tapiche River. While it is after lunch in the hammock, you can observe the monkeys in the background. The daily excursions are very interesting. Although it has no warranty actually to see wildlife, but the guides do their best and we were always lucky. Especially liked the Piranha fish me please, it's was a unique experience, especially if you, as I, is a slightly cocky and Piranha fast his neighbor slaps in the face. Piranhas incidentally make noises :) The concept behind the Tapiche reserve is lace. The population of the Amazon River, which is located on the banks of the River, will have trained no over-exploitation of nature so that they can recover and also the next generation still at the disposal.
