Fundo Pedrito, Iquitos

3.9
#3 of 16 in Zoos & Aquariums in Peru
Zoo / Aquarium
Fundo Pedrito captures the essence of the Amazon, a tourist garden exhibiting exotic plants and animals typical of the native jungle. Explore the vast array of wildlife among the thick green foliage and many ponds. Get up close and personal with the animals by feeding them. Notably the garden is one of the only places you can see paiches, the biggest freshwater fish in the Amazon basin. You will need to take a 20 minute boat ride to reach the garden. Be prepared to walk through wet mud and bring repellent to fend of mosquitoes. Where to stay in Iquitos

The scenic, remote city of Iquitos has long been established as a route into the Amazon, so you'll find a good range of accommodations here. Most of the luxury options lie between Calle Samanez Ocampo and the river, with established colonial-era buildings housing some of the most characterful lodgings. Around the town's primarily residential areas, find simple guesthouses on modest-looking side streets, along with rental apartments ideal for longer stays. Scenic lodges and campgrounds on the edge of town give you the feeling of isolation and wilderness that so many come to the Amazon to find.

  • Small place with local animal
  • Pretty fun. Place where you can give food to the piranhas, alligators and Paiche. Also having enough vegetation and Lotus flowers. Super cute.
