  • A cute place and where are concerned about the environment and the conservation of species in danger of extinction such as the Manatee. It is short but nice. Ask for a partnership at the end, please provide albeit little.

  • After I recommended the CREA from different people, I visited the Centro in the February 2018, before that I was a few hours in the lagoon of Quistococha. With the bus line 49 or 56 of the Plaza de Armas in Iquitos for extremely cheap 1.50 soles, one easily comes to the CREA. From the main road, a large sign indicates on the CREA. I was glad that I had read on the website that there is a reduced rate of 10 soles (instead of 20 soles) for foreign students - because there is no evidence that students pay less, at the entrance and you will ask me also. I could join a group; According to staff at the entrance, the leadership should last about 50 minutes. In effect, leadership took only 24 minutes which was very bad and rude with regard to the price of admission. Although the animals are supported with the admission price, but a ridiculously short tour with gelangweiltem Guide for 20 soles (for those who have to pay the full price) is unjustified and overpriced. The work of CREAs is laudable, and it was interesting to hear how long the animals already there are and what happens to them when they are exposed, but compared to other rescue stations that I have visited, I found the cages in the bad state. There are hardly any plants/trees/branches, where the animals as e.g. ape can play and if a monkey alone in a cage, it's part of absolutely! There is a large pool in which the animals come only after quite some time of several months for the manatees. I believe that the other pools are woefully small. In the great basin, the leader has even held your hand in the water and pop for the animals to come, then we had to go on directly, no touching etc. After the end of the tour, the CREA had openly actually approx. 40 min. However, kiosk, reception made close immediately and asked one to the exit. I have experienced all in all in the Amazon collecting stations where the entry price is justified and the animals in the better condition are kept. However, I acknowledge the work of CREA and find it very commendable that the animals be observed further after the release by chip. Who else has a chance to visit a different fishing station, connects the visit with a tour/Quistococha Baden and is either Peruvians (more favourable rates) or foreign student, which can pull a visit of the CREA into consideration. I would advise a visit for 20 soles.

  • Keeping the animals in enclosures and giving a million reasons why they cannot be rehabilitated for a life back in the jungle is not a rescue center, for me, not even a sanctuary. It is nothing more t...  more »
