Tacama, Ica

4.4
#1 of 7 in Wineries in Peru
With a history dating back to the 16th century, Tacama remains one of the best places to visit if you wish to find out about the local winemaking traditions. Take in the views of the vineyards from the top of the hacienda's main building, listening to the guide discuss the history of winemaking at this facility. Learn about the techniques used to harvest the grapes and turn them into bottled spirits, and discover just how the methods have changed over the years. Sample pisco--Peru's national spirit--made here along with a range of wines. Stop by the onsite restaurant to see how wines can be paired with tasty local dishes. Without going very far, we have a few hours of Lima, this vineyard in Ica, which offers not only tasting delicious wines, but also beautiful spaces and quiet walks, as well as a restaurant with delicious typical food.

The site is absolutely gorgeous. We only did the one-hour free tour as when we arrived that was the only one available (without having to wait for 3 hours) and it was fine. We had a lunch in the resta...  more »

I went with my boyfriend and we loved it! Tacama is much more than just wine and Pisco, we discover! It is a set of details and passion for everything that made! The waiters, guides and sommeliers make you feel "at home" and offer a first class service (US engrieron until the end!). We start our visit with the Tour "Don Manuel" which includes a wine tasting in the cellar in charge of the sommelier Carlos Beltran. It was an incredible, full of history and learning and super romantic experience! The food was very good! We recommend the Pecans with Rosemary (they serve them you warm and have a nice super ahumadito flavor!), lomo saltado (meat is super soft and full of flavor and the chips are crispy!) and adobo de chancho (comes with a puree of pallares you melt in the mouth!). To drink, we recommend the pisco sour, the pisco tonic and obviously their wines to accompany the meal! They also serve coffee of chanchamayo super rich! We liked it so much that we went back a few days later, to see the sunset in the fields of vines. I think that it is a sin to miss this time of the day, because the view is spectacular and with a wine is even better! Many thanks Carlos Beltran for so beautiful experience and for being so attentive to us! Viña Tacama exceeded our expectations and has become a MUST for our next visit Ica! Data: Sundays there paso horses!
