Mount Huascaran, Huascaran National Park

(4.7/5 based on 600+ reviews on the web)
Mount Huascaran represents a large national park known for its high-peaked mountain ranges and mountaineering opportunities. The park earned its World Heritage Site ranking thanks in large part to being home to Cordillera Blanca, the world’s tallest tropical mountains. This Peruvian paradise boasts 340,000 hectares (840,158 acres) to explore, and is home to a diverse range of wildlife, such as spectacled bears and Andean condors. Visitors come here to take advantage of the many trekking routes, which tend to be less busy than other spots and still home to indigenous communities. For hard-core outdoor adventurers, the mountains provide a real challenge. Rising from 3,500 m to 6,768 m (11,483 ft to 22,205 ft), the peaks are perennially snow-capped and tantalizing to experienced climbers and mountaineers. • Good this trip was of a moment to another, certainly, I and my family decided to take us some small holiday of did tours by Huaraz, are of Chimbote, traveled to Huaraz, and arrived and bought sweaters of coat, gloves, and asked the price of them tours and went in an agency of travel called Peruandina, say that this agency not offered a service so good , since there were problems with other people that they reserved seat, and then there was no seat for someone, as you will fill up the bus so that was what that matter not I recommend this agency..., well we arrived almost to the end of 2 hours and a half, the Huascaran National Park, where is had that pay to enter both child and adult I don't remember the price, but well, it makes a horrible cold, feels ugly, gives headache, but good from my perspective I can say that some passengers were on the bus, here are some pictures... Although the weather is spectacular

  • DAY 1 we were 12 people (including my minor children - who acclimated more than adults)... When you're getting but it seems close, the camera ready to follow and keep taking photos you need always a little more... ten always... This time we went the lagoon Chinancocha or also called Llanganuco (entered by the city of Yungay) are approx. 1 hour 15' up to the main entrance, where you can make use of the hygiene services; There we ate a corn with delicious cheese (hence not test anything until approx. 4 pm), about 20' more approx. between auto and walking and we arrived at the lagoon of Chinancocha, we got on a balsitas by s/5 c/u... There we walk approx 20' more along the lagoon and where you can see if you're lucky some wild animals... here are approximately to 3850m.sn.m. and if you start to run it gives you "soroche" or altitude sickness... here is the full nature and color of the lagoon is a beauty... DAY 2 this time we went to visit the National Park of Huascarán by another angle (on the side so to speak) we entered in the city of Carhuaz and increasingly the view of Huascaran is more beautiful (here to live)... Once you get to the entrance (again you can eat delicious corn with cheese; but this time we were also offered a few slices with yellow pepper (little itching) chips which were tasty uff (leverages the bathroom if the)) (you need, because then you have no where to go)... then you get to a vast plain, where you'll see much livestock pasteando, then it will start the ascent... increases with Cliff, which are well worth it, because once you get to the 4,736 meters simply you can not believe it and have the snow to your eyes... awesome view and passing the tunnel (which is the highest in the world trans-Andean tunnel) you'll see a beautiful lagoon and , for us was much more beautiful, because it started to hail... Recontra recommended, each has its charm and beauty
