Lake Churup, Huascaran National Park

(220+ reviews on the web)
Water Body
Hike uphill for around two hours to reach Lake Churup, a scenic body of water in a remote area, surrounded by tall peaks. Less known and frequented than other lakes in the region, the route offers a good option for those wanting to get off the beaten track. Set off on the chalk path, which reaches stepp inclines in places. You'll need to scramble up one portion of the hill, using steel wires wrapped in rubber for support. Once you've reached the deep blue lake, try to frame the perfect photo with the mountains in the background. Wear suitable footwear, bring plenty of water and food, and don't attempt to walk unless you're ready for the uphill scramble section. Put Lake Churup into our Huascaran National Park family vacation planner to see other points of interest to visit during your vacation in Huascaran National Park.

  • Churup is definitely a must be - nicer and more relaxed it is hardly its height adjustment behind. But also for Huarazbesucher who have no excessive hiking experience that is s a way times to get to the mountains and see stunning landscapes

  • The Laguna Churup is a heavy track that can do it, IE not need tourism agency. Just grab a carriage in the city and information that everyone knows dar.
