Lagunas de Llanganuco, Huascaran National Park
Categories: Bodies of Water, Nature & Parks
Hike to the high altitudes of the Cordillera Blanca and see Lagunas de Llanganuco. Mountains engulf the dazzling turquoise lake, nestled in between a valley. Take a boat and paddle around the lake or simply follow the path hugging the waters edge. Pick up some food from nearby stalls and bring it to have a picnic. At 3,850 m (12,631 ft) above sea level, the lake sits 26 km (16 mi) northeast of Yungay, but it will take a good ninety minutes to reach by bus or truck. Take a look at our Huascaran National Park family vacation planner to schedule your visit to Lagunas de Llanganuco and learn about what else to see and do during your holiday.

Enjoy a nice boat ride and the spectacular view from the shore. Then have some papa rellena, it's delicious. You can drive or take a walk to the next lake. It's a beautiful and quiet spot.
