  • It's the main plaza in Huaraz, surrounded by government offices, banks and travel agencies. There's a fountain in the center. Going by regular plazas it's no big deal. But a nice place to linger...  more »
  • After our dinner, we sat at the Plaza de Armas and enjoyed seeing the locals strolling in the plaza, playing with their kids and walking their dogs. I got to speak with 3 young ladies, all in...  more »
  • Not a bad place to sit and people watch. When I was there, they were rebuilding the main church. And it will be a big church. When that's complete, the place ought to offer a great feel for...  more »
  • It is a nice park to visit when the sun is out. You can also walk from here to the oldest barrio in the city. There were major earthquakes in the 40s and 70s that leveled the town. Only a small area survived. It is close to the anthropological museum as well.
  • Lovely little Park in front of the Cathedral. 5 minutes from the centre, nice place to chill out and watch life go by. Very safe and no hawkers.
  • Nice family place
  • Nice motel in a quiet area, but not far from downtown area and shopping. Pharmacy and small food stores nearby. Good wifi and reasonably priced restaurant with large portions. Nice observation deck with great views of the beautiful Andes Mountains and the town. I only wish the rooms had more outlets. Ours had 5 if you unplug the TV, night stand lights, and use the one in the bathroom. Kinda a hassle when you've returned from a tour and need to charge 2 or 3 phones, a digital camera, run a laptop and charge extra batteries for the next day. The rooms do NOT have a/c or heat. Since we were staying in the winter, we asked for a heater, and was brought an old convection radiator type heater that was totally ineffective. Also, I would like to see better lighting in the rooms. Overall, the motel was nice, neat and clean. The staff was pleasant and helpful and I would consider starting here again.
