Ruin Historic Site
Step inside pre-Incan Peru at Piquillacta, which has stood in this spot for almost 15 centuries. Get a glimpse of ancient agricultural practices at the ruins of an irrigation system, which includes a stretch of aqueducts. Stand in the streets and appreciate the tall walls that still guard the long-abandoned walkways. With so much to explore, the site remains a great place for both children and adults interested in a bit of Peruvian history. Take a look at our Cusco vacation route planner to schedule your visit to Piquillacta and learn about what else to see and do during your holiday.

  • Pikillaqta is a large Wari culture archaeological site 20 kilometres east of Cusco in the Quispicanchi Province. Pikillaqta is a village of the Wari people. Wari was the center village and other cities like Pikillaqta were influenced from it.
  • Very interesting pre-Inca archeological site. Massive area.
  • Extensive pre Inca site. There's a bit more information provided than at most Archaeological Sites in Peru
  • interesting historical site
