Create an itinerary including Museo de Arte Precolombino
See a collection of art and artifacts at Museo de Arte Precolombino, a heritage center that sensitively and sympathetically details the artistic progress and cultural development of natives before the colonial era. Built on the site an Incan ceremonial court, the museum's main building was designed as a colonial mansion in 1580. A historic monument of Cusco reopened as a museum in 2003, the buildingĀ  now displays a collection of artworks and objects from the pre-Columbian times. Take a tour of the museum to see the finely sculpted jewelry, ornate pots, and ceremonial masks made by native cultures between 1250 BCE and 1532 CE. • We went here after we had been to Machu Picchu and after we had visited 4 historic sites in the area and it was a good addition. They have a solid collection.

  • Probably the best museum we went to, lots of cool art from inca and pre-inca cultures. Much better than the museums on the tourist ticket šŸ˜‚
  • This is a really beautiful museum, well organized and the exhibits are well displayed. Information in Spanish, English, and French. I highly recommed a visit.
  • We really enjoyed this museum. Not too big but plenty to see in an 1-2 hour visit. Great way to spend an afternoon. A lot of descriptions were also in English which was helpful for us. The ceramics are incredible, and the jewelry!
  • Small but really well executed museum, with an amazing restaurant (really, we were impressed by most of our meals in Peru, but the meal at MAP cafe was amazing). A big thank you to John and the rest of the team at MAP cafe for their excellent service, great explanations and great food.
  • It's such a good way to spend some time if you love museums. Get enchanted by the archeological figures and antiques on exhibition. It reminds open for quite some time. I did visit the place around 6pm and it was quite empty. Walking around the whole place might take 40 min - 1 h. Photos allowed with no flash light.
