Visit Ccochahuasi Animal Sanctuary, a private shelter that cares for injured animals and those rescued from abuse. Take a tour with an English-speaking guide and see a variety of species, most of them free to roam the sanctuary grounds. Get up close and personal with alpacas, vicunas, wild cats, and majestic condors, and learn about the effort to preserve and care for these native Peruvian species. You can pet most of the animals and take photos to remind you of your trip. I really nice place to stop on the way into the sacred Valley. Got to see some amazing animals which was really cool.
Loved this place! One of the few places to see animals up close - condors, pumas, baby black bears... Plus it's free! (donations welcomed).
Excellent, well-run, friendly sanctuary for rescued animals just outside Cusco. Top attractions include Puma, Andean Condor, Llama, Alpaca, Guanaco, Vicuña, Toucans, and much more! 60% of all gift store purchases go directly toward the help of the existing and future rescued animals - the store has excellent selection of clothes and gifts by the way. A must visit for any animal lover in Cusco. My girlfriend and I had a wonderful experience.
You should stop to visit this zoo on the way to the Sacred Valley :)
