Standing proudly over Cusco's main square since 1654, Catedral del Cuzco o Catedral Basilica de la Virgen de la Asuncion remains one of the city's most prominent religious and historical landmarks. The site dates back to before the 17th century, as the cathedral stands above the ruins of an Inca temple, some of whose stones were used in the current building's construction. • Following the Catholic model of charging for visiting cathedrals, Cusco offers very little cultural value in Exchange for the entry price. The visit includes the churches located in its two lateral flanks, but nothing really justifies pay a visit it. The best, its facade.

  • Even the richest European Interior is not able to match the Interior of the temple. Gilding, ornaments, decorations, mirrors, the Saints ustrojeni in sumptuous robes, even Christ on the cross has an apron trimmed with gold and stones. The last supper in one of the aisles stays forever in memory due to ... Guinea pig on one of the platters. Necessarily.
