Casa Garcilaso, Cusco
(3.9/5 based on 75+ reviews on the web)
Learn about the prehispanic Peruvian people of the Inca empire at Casa Garcilaso. This small but charming historical museum displays a number of period items, from cookery pots and water jugs to Incan weaponry. Check out the multimedia presentations on their history, as well as a room dedicated to colonial artworks from the era. The building itself dates back to the 16th century, as evidenced by its Andalusian-style architecture. Restoration has kept it going after three different earthquakes in its long history. • This House is home to the Regional History Museum, is close to the stone of 12 angles and explores the entire history of Cusco, since pre-Inca cultures to colonization.

  • It is a very nice Museum opposite the plaza of the rejoicing. Is well armed and allows to know inside an old house where once lived the Inca Garcilaso de la Vega who some souvenirs are displayed. Very interesting video and the room dedicated to Atahualpa. It's worth the time.

  • We went to this museum because it is part of the tourist ticket of Cuzco. There is some beautiful pottery, but the rest is a bit disjointed. It's really not a must but to care why not...
