  • If you visit the Chavin de Huantar archeological complex, they can not miss the Museum, also the entries are the same for the two places. It is about a kilometre from the complex and we were walking, with Hat and umbrella (which is needed in the city by rain season). A well maintained Museum, images, models and genuine parts like heads clavas, among others. You can take the return bus to Huaraz Museum door or finish that it is 5 blocks more or less.

  • The monuments of Chavín are located on the eastern slopes of the cordillera blanca to 3180 m.snm. In a triangle formed by the river Mosna and Huachecsa rivers which unite their waters to pay tribute to the marañon river flow. According to latest archaeological investigations carried out, their seniority is given between 1500 to 500 BC. The complex is built by various buildings; pyramids, squares that sit on a hillside, atarazadas doorways and stairways. The pyramidal buildings contain a network of passages and Interior Chambers that in some cases appear superposed. The material used for its architecture was the stone, also using the same material to portray with mythical figures in high and low relief; plated walls, carved stones (cabezas clavas) sample of his deity. Is your gallery also called Chavín "Chavin Labyrinth" a monolith carved with mythical figures named "Pike" approximately 5 m high, another carved representative is the cover (the Castle) with the explanation given by the colors dark) outside world) clear (inner world), and in front of this rectangular plaza which served for the religious celebrations entities of this circular square or (old temple) he had carved perimeter of mythical beings. Chavin also has many monoliths as the raymondi stele, the Tello obelisk and the Estela Yauya. The Chavín National Museum site Museum are exposed and studied the movable cultural property that have been recovered both in the area of the archaeological monument, such as those that have been found in the village, from the time that it was excavated for the first time by Dr. Ju César Tello Rojas mess so far. Therefore, in this new and fabulous Museum we can appreciate the Tello Obelisk, pututos heads clavas, vessels of pottery, etc; in the end a whole cultural objects that reveal the high degree of development reached our Andean culture, represented, in this case, in Chavin.
