  • A weekend of February 2018, I was with my family. It was not what I expected: the story says that the great-granddaughter of the viceroy Amat y León built the Castle after a tour of Europe and as a tribute to his spouse, was hoping to find something tasteful European. What I found was, rather, a series of imitations of Greek, Roman monuments (those who read written Rome, in English), Indian architecture and medieval Germanic. Two things I especially displeased: 1) the noise: there were two people with megaphones, microphone and speaker to directing shows. One was in the central square of the castilllo managing games and the other in swimming pools. (2) which had birds of prey tied near the central square, I endured not being there more than 5 minutes because of the noise, I imagine these poor birds. Finally, the roofs of the place have things unused quotas and that gives a bad appearance when one looks from the top floors.

  • I was taken here for a visit with a friend. I was very underwhelmed. It looks cheap and the price for admission is high for still being worked on. It's just mostly restaurants right now and not many o...  more »

  • It's an interesting place where you can see many different information about the middle age, prehistory and history in Peru and around the world.
  • I liked it very much. The only thing I didn't like was variety of food, it was quite delicious, mostly pork though. The castle is about 60 km from Lima, less than 2 hours driving. It has some small museums, several restaurants and a swimming pool. Prices are ok, I'd say. It's a good place to expend a day with family.
  • It was my short trip but We enjoyed too much!!
  • A must see place. You won't regret it.
  • Chancay castle is a beautiful modern folly, it embraces several ancient cultures Romans, King Arthur and India. Inside is a small but interesting collection of ancient artifacts including mummified bodies. It would appeal to children and adults alike and I for one am glad I stopped by. The views along the coast are magnificent. It doesn't cater to English speakers but it's still a lot of fun and cheap. Think Disneyworld meets Incas and King Arthur. Good old fashion cheesy fun.
