Feel like an intrepid explorer at Revash Mausoleo de los Chachapoyas, a mysterious necropolis of the Chachapoya civilization. Dating back to pre-Inca times, these ingenious sculptures are carved straight into the side of the rock. What's more, they remain almost entirely intact. Many believe these to be replicas of the housing from the era. While not a hike in the strictest sense, the steep trek to the ruins demands appropriate footwear and a bit of muscle power. • Seeing this first-hand was awesome. I recommend it as a day trip to anyone who is interested in the archaeology of the area. No overwhelming crowds.
  • To get to the mausoleums of Revash contact an agency of tourism from Chachapoyas, the trip is long and you includes the visit to Leymebamba. You arrive in the village to start a walk of approx. 30 min, also you can hire horses that facilitate you access. The way to climb the mountain is very nice, beautiful landscapes. The ascent to the mausoleums is by a narrow path, but not dangerous until you reach the viewpoint where you can observe the mausoleums in the Hill, there are two well preserved, you can appreciate the colors, but if you suffer from fear of heights to refrain from doing so. I recommend you take a little walk through the picturesque village on the way back, hopefully you will see some woman weaving carpets to the pre inca style, meat drying in the Sun to become the rich cecina, base of the delicious dishes of Amazon, as well as roosters, hens, geese, kids, a sky and a spectacular vegetation, complements very well the tour visit to the Museum in Leymebamba.
