Take a break from your hiking trip and spend some time in civilization at Centro Historico. Though considered more of a side dish to Chachapoyas' renowned trails, the town offers a glimpse into the present-day life in this area. Explore a number of excellent cafes, restaurants, and shops, where you can sample delicious local foods and grab a few souvenirs. Book a Chachapoyas walking tour in the town; if you feel like haggling you can usually get them for below asking price. • In the historic centre as well as the plaza, Amazon can find Boulevard, a very tidy place, houses and shops have all the same style and the same color, even the signboards of shops, have been very careful to keep the architecture. The dark brown balconies have pots but could improve the flowers, with so much wonder that you find in Chachapoyas. I really congratulate the order and peace of the historic centre of this city, you can also find several restaurants and cafés offering delicious local cuisine.

  • Chachapoyas has been frozen in time, there are no banks, only the BCP, there are no money exchange and few establishments which you can pay with card. Apart from the streets around the Plaza de Armas, the other is not paved. There is not much commercial movement. There are hotels, not a lot of different categories, but few restaurants. Also many places of selling handicrafts. The climate is that of the Peruvian Andes (cold in the morning and night and sunrise to noon)
