Caverna de Quiocta, Chachapoyas

3.2/5 based on 140+ reviews on the web
Bring a flashlight and explore Caverna de Quiocta, a system of spacious caverns filled with interesting rock formations, stalactites, and stalagmites. The caverns used to be ceremonial burial sites, so you can view ancient skulls and bones on the cave floor or in small niches in the walls. Besides a flashlight to illuminate the dark chambers, you'll need a decent pair of boots, as the cavern floors are very muddy and slippery from bat droppings. It couldn't be easier to arrange your visit to Caverna de Quiocta and many more Chachapoyas attractions: make an itinerary online using Inspirock's Chachapoyas trip itinerary builder.

  • Too cute and interesting, especially in the last 200 meters. Essential lease or wear rubber boots, by the mud, as well as headlights (all are rental properties in the village which is 2 km before the cavern). I recommend it for children from 8 years up, since it is very dark and the mud is goop and they have no strength in the legs. I recommend it anyway!

  • Normally excursions include the visit of this cave after visiting the Karajía sarcophagi, which are impressive, so we was not another remedy that visit the cave, which is completely dispensable. It has a few stalactites and stalagmites, but I visited 20 best caves in Spain, the most fun is that you rent rubber boots and you can get in all the puddles that you want.
