  • The ransom room (El Cuarto del Rescate) is a small room located in Cajamarca, Peru. It is considered by many historians Peruvians the place where the inca Empire ended with the capture and subsequent execution of the inca Emperor Atahualpa.

  • Guides are only in Spanish, pretty knowledgeable. Make sure you ask about the unofficial history too. Official one was written by Spanish.
  • Old building where, according to history, the Inca Atahualpa did collect a treasure, to pay for their freedom. Stands a mark indicating the level to which was filled with gold and silver, for this purpose and a slab where supposedly, was subjected to the stick penalty.
