  • Nothing special.
  • Cathedral Temple is located next to the Plaza de Armas. Its construction began in the 17TH century the works of construction of the Temple it takes quite some time. The home side right called San Miguel Arcángel, adjacent to the chapel of the tabernacle was completed in the year 1686. Its facade is a refined example of Baroque art. Its main altar is completely in gold leaf. His stroke was the work of Juan de Céspedes and Ledesma, who probably led the construction, costs were borne by the King Carlos II. Upon the creation of the Diocese of Cajamarca, April 11, 1908, the church became the Cathedral range. The 27 October 1762 was the consecration of the temple by the Bishop of Trujillo Don Francisco Javier de Luna Victoria. The facade of the Cathedral has three entrance gates. At the top a tower without Bell Tower, which contains the Baptistry. Cloths between columns, have space for images, they are completely covered with abundant carved decoration. It does not have the grandeur of the Church of San Francisco, however it is the most representative. Its construction corresponds to the second half of the 17TH century and was under the patronage of Santa Catalina.

  • The Cathedral of Cajamarca, is one for me not so friendly and light-filled Church. Little to little paintings, acting quite dark and thus somehow unfriendly.
