Sangalle, Cabanaconde
(3.7/5 based on 110+ reviews on the web)
Trek to what is rumored to be the world’s deepest canyon at Sangalle. You'll descend to depths of around 1200 m (3937 ft) in order to reach the canyon, so the challenge is no walk in the park; come equipped with plenty of water and, most importantly, sturdy shoes. Once you've reached your destination, however, the rewards make your efforts worthwhile. Admire the tall, verdant trees and flowers surrounding the azure natural pool at the bottom. • We stayed at Eden. And after 2 days of trek in the heat and dust, the view of the pool makes us euphoric... And we quickly disillusioned. We suspected that a tourist hotspot site would be a little a vacuum door sheet but at this point there! This is not even room to 25 soles per person or the bottle of water to 13 soles which is shocking because you quickly understand the difficulty of supply of the place. Which is huge, it's the liter of boiling water which is charged 12 soles or the use of gas for 5 soles or toilet paper provided and paid or music to the afternoon and evening until he was asked to cut because the sound of its rotten speakers who crachotent of David getta slap us on the system. And the meal... soup of (some) vegetables in followed Super salty broth of a cup of white rice with a puree of potatoes salt ++ and a spoon of tomato and onion sauce cut water... but happiness ^ ^ So yes the place is Heavenly and is worth a visit but I recommend to stop down even if it means to leave very early malata or llahuar and finish the ascent to cabanacondes in late afternoon.

  • After the wonderful trip to Sangalle, this is really pure and just a place to stay overnight. And there it is fine for. Shacks are no more than that: shacks with a bed and a candle. Fine on location. There is no electricity, so it's dark early. The advantage: the incredibly beautiful starry sky is clear to see. In the ' canteen ' was 1 light so we have with other guests a cosy evening spent with games. As for food, there is no choice: you can in this canteen food and that's OK, but typically made for tourists. The staff is not particularly hospitable unfortunately. It is wonderful to be able to swim upon arrival here. Then in a cold, smoking open shower to rinse off. We went to sleep early the next morning very on time anyway back to Cabanaconde. Fine, but no more than that.

  • It looked good from the mountains when hiking around but the 3 hostels are really bad, and the whole place is purely made for tourists, nothing typical here. There are much better places in the canyon...  more »

  • The sangalle is a similar place even oasis, in the middle of the Canyon, has a few cabins rustic but cosy, in addition to don different really fresh water pools, crossing to reach this wonderful place is from the village called Cabanaconde, the route is usually walk down has a duration of 2:30 hours and rise about 3 to 4 hours average. Take water, to not become dehydrated and repellent for mosquitoes, the clothes do not worry as this place is warm.
