Sangalle, Cabanaconde

#5 of 19 in Things to do in Colca Canyon
Trek to what is rumored to be the world’s deepest canyon at Sangalle. You'll descend to depths of around 1200 m (3937 ft) in order to reach the canyon, so the challenge is no walk in the park; come equipped with plenty of water and, most importantly, sturdy shoes. Once you've reached your destination, however, the rewards make your efforts worthwhile. Admire the tall, verdant trees and flowers surrounding the azure natural pool at the bottom. • Sangalle is an oasis in the middle of mountains in the middle of the colca canyon. The oasis is beautiful but going to earn because the rise of it to return to cabanaconde is very rough.

  • A break in the middle of our trek in the Colca canyon. We are welcomed by a couple of adorable Spanish volunteers. It's beautiful and they care! A great surprise that we recommend.

  • Go to the oasis you will require time and effort. According to the days you have you can go by San Juan de Chucho or direct to the oasis. If going straight you will not have problems to arrive, but if you're going to go in two days San juan, you are looking for a guide or mulero accompanying you, they know the canon and you can get out of any trouble
