Categories: Mountains, Wildlife Areas, Nature & Parks
Catch sights of some of the nation's most famous residents at Condor's Cross. Watch condors taking flight, rising high above you, then swooping down and circling at this vantage point, marked by a cross. The area represents one of the best places from which to view the Andean condor, with a range of tour groups including the area on their itineraries. The surrounding canyon, deep and monochrome, represents an inspiring sight and a major attraction in and of itself. Condors are likely to show up, but it can't be 100 percent guaranteed. I was leaving Canaconde and I found myself at the cross just at the moment where these large birds are in show. Hundreds of people attend their flight, and it's pretty nice. They fly quite close to us. I wouldn't say that it's worth to do hours of road to be here at this time, but if you go there at this time, stop.show original
